[CCOKTOP] Blanco BIC63 / BIC64

After complaining here earlier about problems with ours, I thought it was necessary to give Blanco Australia a lot of praise for what they eventually did for us.

We bought the unit 3 years ago for a kitchen renovation after it had been recommended to us by a top chef as being faster, easier & safer than cooking with gas. He was right of course although we still use our BBQ & smoker whenever we can.

After a year of perfect and really enjoyable use the RHS plate started playing up and required a service call and repair under warranty. It was the RHS plate ok for a while but then started again to be temperamental, sometimes ok for a 3 month stretch and then not wanting to work again until it finally stopped altogether & we existed by using the two LHS smaller plates only.

I contacted Blanco Melbourne and explained how much we loved the unit but never had a long run with it running perfectly for us. Within a week I was called by a very synpathetic lady who said she would fix it up quickly and that she did!

A service technician called, took away the defective part and replaced it a few weeks later. It is actually a computer, complete with motherboard, fan, power supply etc & there is one another one for the LHS plates.

Overall it was a very refreshing experience, albeit it annoying and frustrating at times. But to have such a satisfying result has restored all our faith in the retail marketplace, knowing there are companies out there who DO accept their responsibilities to their customers, and in BLANCO's case, going way beyond that with an expensive repair OUTSIDE of the warranty.

But it gets much better.... the technician showed me a burnt out cockroach on the motherboard circuitry - it was never really BLANCO's problem to repair!!!!! We love yopu BLANCO and tell everyone this story now - we'd give you 10/10 if we could.
User friendly temperature & timer settings, provides INSTANT heat and plenty of it as you need it, with no waiting around. But this also means a saucepan WILL get red hot real quick if you get distracted and not paying attention properly.
We've never figured out how to clean the ceramic tops to showroom perfect. Otherwise it performs brilliantly.
