[MICROWAVE OVEN] LG MS3882XRSK / MS3882SRSK
After reading the positive reviews of this microwave I purchased with high hopes, only to be disappointed.
I previously had a Panasonic which blew up on me after only 3 years, so was quite unhappy with that and thought I'd switch brands. I researched and the LG seemed to be a winner.
Alas, there are several issues with this microwave which make me regret my decision.
Here is an outline o f the issues with the microwave:
1. There is no timer, something I used on my previous microwave every single day. This is irritating but on it's own something I could live with.
2. The time for cooking on the microwave only moves in increments of 10 seconds. This is something I really HATE about this microwave. I have a baby who sometimes has formula. To heat his formula takes 27 seconds in the microwave, any longer and it's scalding hot, any shorter and it's too cold and he won't drink it. And if it's too cold it winds up taking forever to get it to the right temperature because you can only put it in for short bursts of time.
3. Less than a month after I purchased the microwave the plate in the microwave cracked and broke when I was cooking rice. It was as if it couldn't stand the heat of the microwave. I contacted LG's Customer Service and received a response to say someone would be in contact with me shortly. 6 weeks later and a new plate has arrived in the post.
4. It doesn't cook rice at all well. Our previous microwave (Panasonic) cooked rice perfectly every time. This is terrible. It is usually under cooked and I'm yet to figure out the timing for doing it manually rather than using the automatic rice function. But seems to need at least 6 minutes extra cooking after the automatic function has finished.
