[FOOD PROCESSOR] Philips HR7762/90
It seems too good to be true. A food processor, blender and mill for $100!? I've always believed you get what you pay for but this unit is great value.
When I opened the box for the first time I went *urgh*! The plastic of the blender and food processor felt cheap and I was immediately disappointed. But after 6 months of use the results are effective so I'm back in love with this unit. In fa ct, the plastic is robust and I've even dropped it a couple times so *yay* plastic.
The things I use it for:
- Making smoothes (Done very well)
- Grinding nuts (Good)
- Chopping and pureeing garlic/onion (Good)
- Mixing dough (Very Good)
- Making fries with the attachment (Bad. Comes out short, limp and shrivelled to the left)
- Slicing (Good but small bowl size means frequent emptying. No bother for me as I cook for 2).
- Chopping (So So. It's tough to control so I avoid when attempting anything requiring consistency of dicing but that's probably why you shouldn't use a food processor when chopping in general).
Some other random thoughts:
- The tray is a good concept but tough to keep organised neatly because of the stacked/sloped placement of the blades. A slotted configuration would have been better in my opinion but I can understand that some would need the lower profile to keep in a draw.
- I've never had an issue with unit power and the noise is very acceptable.
- Plastic still looks new despite frequent dishwashing.
- Food processor handle fills with water during dishwashing and sputters out later - annoying.
- I feel the bowl size is a perfect. Not too small; not too big.
Overall this is a ridiculously good value unit and would recommend.
