[WASHING MACHINE] Miele W 5873 WPS
I've noticed a lot of people complaining about clothes being very wrinkled or crinkly when washed with a Miele however one vital point I suspect these guys are missing is that their last Front Loader was no-where near as water efficient as Miele machines, the less water that is used and the higher the spin cycle means the clothes will NEVER "swim" like they do in other machine and as such will com e out drier but on the plus side the wash will be just as effective with less water used.
I was shocked myself when I watched how little water is used in each wash and as a result was very sceptical for many wash cycles as to how well my clothes would be washed but at the end of each cycle they're as good as can be expected.
For a front loader the everyday "cottons 60C" cycle is only about 1.30 hours long which for a Front-Loader is good as some are known to be over 2 hours which in my mind is unacceptable.
It's very quiet and the only noises are when the water inlet fills the machine, when the machine is on spin and a quiet emptying - when the clothes are being tossed in the main wash cycle no mechanical-noise comes from the machine at all.
My only complaint is a double edged sword; you see it has many many programs to choose from and then there are like additional options for each washing program such as pre-soak, temperature, spin speed, extra spin etc etc. Unfortunately for me this combined with the not-so-intuitive user interface panel mixed up of physical buttons and a turn knob it's kinda confusing when trying to do things such as a pre-soak but as I said if you want a ridiculous amount of washing programs and an equally massive instruction booklet with your machine than the machine can't be beat.
FYI - don't use thick detergents with pre-soak as very little water is used so the detergent tray isn't always left clean...
I've only had this machine under 2 years and got it so it would stack with the matching Miele dryer we have which is about 5 years old give or take. (the only thing that needs replacing on the dryer is the lint catcher but to be fair it runs on average 2 loads a day every day of the week so that's like what? 730 cycles a year... pretty good considering it's done over 3500 cycles since I bought it...
At the end of the day I've known lots of family and friends who've had Miele appliances in their houses and loved them, the women I worked with at a Department store raved about them and Choice magazine has always spoke highly of them so those were my main motivators for purchasing my first Miele 5+ years ago.
No problems with the washing machine yet but of course at 2 years old it's very early days.
